Clear information before you order

Terms & Conditions

The practical terms that apply when you use the Layer3D website or order products, printing and repair services.

How these terms apply

Last updated: 15 July 2026. These terms apply when you use the Layer3D website or order goods and services from us. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including your statutory consumer rights.

About Layer3D

Layer3D supplies 3D printers, materials and accessories and provides 3D printing and printer repair services from Saltash, Cornwall. Contact us at info@layer3d.org.uk.

Website information and quotations

We take reasonable care to keep descriptions, availability and guidance accurate. Images and printed samples are illustrative, and colour or finish can vary between screens, materials, batches and manufacturing processes. Automated calculator figures are estimates until Layer3D has reviewed the file, scale, material, printability, quantity and requested finish.

Prices and payment

Prices are shown in pounds sterling (GBP). Layer3D Ltd is not VAT registered and does not charge VAT. The displayed product price is the final product price. Delivery charges or agreed additional work will be shown before you confirm the order or set out in a quotation. Payment must be made using an available method unless we agree otherwise in writing.

When a contract is formed

An online acknowledgement confirms that we received your request; it does not always mean that we have accepted it. A contract is formed when we expressly accept the order, begin agreed work or dispatch the goods, depending on the transaction.

We may decline or cancel an order before acceptance if an item is unavailable, a model is unsuitable to print, the price is clearly incorrect, payment cannot be authorised or the request is unsafe or unlawful. Any payment taken for a cancelled order will be refunded.

3D files and custom work

You are responsible for supplying accurate files, dimensions, quantities and intended-use information. You confirm that you have the right to use any model, design, logo or other material supplied and that producing it will not infringe another person’s rights or break the law. We may reject files that are unsafe, unlawful, technically unsuitable or outside our capabilities.

We review printability but cannot guarantee that a customer-supplied design will be fit for an unstated purpose. Material behaviour, layer lines, support marks, dimensional tolerances and colour variation are normal features of 3D printing. Critical fits, loads, heat, outdoor exposure, food contact, electrical use or safety-critical applications must be disclosed before acceptance.

Repairs

Repair assessments and quotations are based on the information and condition available at the time. Additional faults can become apparent during disassembly or testing. We will seek approval before material additional work unless an agreed limit already covers it. Customers should back up data, remove unrelated accessories and disclose modifications, contamination or safety concerns before handing over equipment.

Delivery and collection

Estimated production and delivery times are not guaranteed unless expressly agreed. If collection is offered, please do not travel until we confirm the order is ready. Risk normally passes when goods are delivered to you or collected. See Shipping & Collection for practical details.

Cancellation, returns and faults

Consumers purchasing most standard goods online normally have a 14-day cancellation period after delivery. Exceptions can apply, including goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised, such as prints produced from your chosen model, dimensions, material or colour. These exceptions do not affect rights where goods are faulty, not as described or not supplied with reasonable care and skill.

Contact us before returning anything and read our Returns & Refunds page for the process and further information.

Liability

We do not exclude liability where it would be unlawful to do so. Subject to that, we are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was made, or for business losses arising from a consumer purchase. Customers remain responsible for deciding whether a product or customer-supplied design is suitable for any safety-critical, regulated or specialist use unless Layer3D has expressly agreed that requirement in writing.

Events outside reasonable control

We are not responsible for delay caused by events outside our reasonable control, but we will contact you as soon as practical, take reasonable steps to reduce the effect and explain the available options.

Complaints and governing law

Please email info@layer3d.org.uk with your order or job reference and a clear description of the issue so we can investigate. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Consumers may also have the right to bring proceedings in the part of the UK where they live.
