How this notice applies

Last updated: 15 July 2026. This privacy notice explains how Layer3D collects and uses personal information when you visit this website, contact us, request a quotation, book a repair, create an account or buy goods and services.

Who we are

Layer3D is a 3D printing retailer and service provider based in Saltash, Cornwall. For privacy questions or requests, email info@layer3d.org.uk.

Information we collect

• Contact details such as your name, email address, telephone number and delivery or billing address.

• Order, payment-status and account information needed to provide goods and services. Payment card details are handled by the selected payment provider and are not stored in full by Layer3D.

• Enquiry details, repair information, photographs, drawings and 3D model files you choose to send or upload.

• Technical information such as your IP address, browser, device and essential security or session data.

• Your cookie and marketing preferences.

How and why we use it

We use personal information to answer enquiries, prepare quotations, review uploaded models, provide printing and repair services, process orders, arrange collection or delivery, manage accounts, prevent fraud, secure the website and meet accounting, tax and other legal obligations.

Our lawful bases depend on the purpose. They normally include taking steps at your request or performing a contract, complying with a legal obligation, and our legitimate interests in operating, supporting and improving the business. Where consent is required—for example, for optional marketing or non-essential cookies—you may withdraw it at any time.

Who receives information

We share information only where reasonably necessary with organisations that help us operate, such as website and email hosting providers, form and e-commerce services, payment processors, delivery companies, professional advisers and IT or security providers. We may also disclose information when required by law or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. We do not sell personal information.

International processing

Some service providers may process information outside the UK. Where this happens, we expect appropriate safeguards to be used in accordance with UK data-protection law.

How long we keep information

We keep information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose collected, including providing support, maintaining order and repair records, resolving disputes and meeting legal, tax and accounting requirements. Uploaded project files and enquiries may be kept while a quotation or job is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to support repeat work, unless you ask us to delete them and we have no overriding reason to retain them.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict your information, object to certain uses, receive portable data and withdraw consent. To make a request, email info@layer3d.org.uk. We may need to verify your identity.

If you are unhappy with how your information is handled, please contact us first so we can investigate. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Cookies and security

We use security measures appropriate to the nature of the information we hold, but no internet service can be guaranteed completely secure. For details about website cookies and how to change your preferences, see our Cookie Policy.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice when our services, providers or legal obligations change. The latest version will always appear on this page with its revision date.
